Muscat Hills Golf & Country Club enjoys a fabulous location only minutes from major shopping areas, first class restaurants, hospitals, international schools and Muscat’s main Central Business District.

Alex Day, the Head Professional, is delighted at the construction of additional driving range bays and the indoor swing studio. A covered area contains the latest technology that analyse players’ ball flights and swings.
The fairways are continually tended, canopies of palm trees have been planted and there is a small, feature lake on the 18th fairway with aerators installed to prevent the build-up of algae.

The Club approached Bright Lights Trading and asked them to provide lighting for its entrance focal point. As you turn the bend into the club grounds your eye is naturally drawn to a cascading waterfall on the edge of the fairway. This was carefully designed not to interfere with the players’ concentration and so spoil their game.

When this water feature has settled down a team from Bright Lights Trading will enjoy enhancing the scene with strategically placed LED lighting.

Home Automation is the automation of your household that allows the control of domestic activities such as ‘home entertainment’ by integrating systems to allow the control of multiple appliances  from one screen and/or smartphone.

The Idea of home automation is to allow users to access the majority of their household, be it lights, the T.V, the blinds, the sprinklers in their gardens and can even help the owner maximize the efficiency of their heating/cooling systems, with – if desired – a single controller and/or panel. Not only does it allow them to control these devices but gives them the option to alter them in the greatest of ways, for example:

HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), can be set to maximize efficiency of air conditioning by switching off the air conditioning when nobody is in the house, or adjust the temperature depending on the time of day and temperature outside. This allows users to save money and help the enviroment.

Lighting is used to control electric lights and can be set to do multiple things such as, switch off all lights when nobody is in the house, light up a room when someone enters, dim the lights based on the time of day/ day of the week, and set the colour ambient dependent on special occasions.

Audio and Video is one of the more versatile areas of home automation, the user can control multiple media platforms and the specific timing desired device shall act upon, for example: The user can set what is seen on T.V at a certain time of day along with the volume, they can control specific playlist to start playing at any desired time or to play as soon as the device is switched on. The options can differ from room to room and on each specific user.

Security of a household can range from anti theft mechanics to warning when there is a fire or other hazards that may occur. Anti theft can include cameras, which allows the user to monitor their household with cameras placed around their house from an internet source. The cameras can be controlled while away via the internet or can be preset to scan the house automatically. There are also other methods to prevent theft such as: sensors of detection of movement, sensors of magnetic contact of door/window and sensors of glass breaking. The security doesn’t just reach out to anti theft however, the system can also detect hazards such as fires and gas leaks and can deal with them in a variety of ways, such as switching off all media platforms and generating a warning sound to notify the occupants of the house that there is a danger or can even change the lighting to a preset colour and tone when such hazards are detected.

While all the above sound highly complex and expensive, home automation can be as simple as to solve the problem of having to many remote controllers laying around your household by giving you an all in one controller that can activate anything that is preset with the touch of one button!
